Functional Safety Training for AI and ML

ISO 26262, ISO PAS 8800, and SOTIF work together assess and mitigate risks associated with today's artificial intelligence and machine learning hardware, software, and silicon.  We offer the following training in this area:

  • 1 day course, onsite or online, English

  • Full coverage of ISO PAS 8800, SOTIF

  • Understand the connections between these standards and ISO 26262

  • Hands on exercises to develop requirements,  architectures, and assess risks 

  • Software and Silicon solutions are discussed.  Training can be focused on the domain upon request.

Architecture Analysis

We take a systematic approach to review system, hardware, and software architectures for use in safety-related applications.  Working with your architects in a 2 or 3 day workshop format, we use the following methods to identify risk in the architecture when it comes to meeting safety goals and derived safety requirements:

  • Fault Tree Analysis

  • Dependent Failure Analysis

  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis 

  • Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis

  • SOTIF and STPA Analysis

We have worked with most of the industry standard tools, but can also provide templates and methodologies if none exist.  Architecture weaknesses are categorized by risk and action plans are created to address risks.
